In part 1 of the book, “The five thieves of time” the author talks about what steals our time. Too much work in progress, unknown dependencies, unplanned work emergencies, conflicting priorities and neglected work are the causes of time theft.
Each topic is discussed in more detail in the book. “Every dependency doubles your chance of being delayed.” Pay attention to what you say yes, because the amount of work may be excessive. Unplanned work adds unpredictability to your work.
Productivity isn’t about being a workhorse, it is about setting priorities and fiercely protecting your time.
